It’s more than just a scholarship

It’s more than just a scholarshipIt’s more than just a scholarship
I

We believe every student in America should have equal opportunity and access to a quality education.

This Is Why:

Providing proper resources ensure students are equipped to succeed. When students are able to focus on learning, rather than surviving, education wins.

Performance based scholarships help students feel ready and motivated to attend school regularly, minimizing absenteeism and encouraging engagement.

Performance based scholarships represent belonging and ownership. They empower students to make choices for themselves and bolster teachers struggling to break the cycle of poverty.

Each year, we engage our network of schools  to give us an accurate picture of our impact in their underserved communities.

Inequality is starkly evident in higher education, where soaring costs, shrinking financial aid and underfunded educational opportunity programs have made earning a college degree increasingly difficult. Many students from low-income backgrounds work hard to get into college. But staying often poses an even bigger challenge.

In 2016, 20% of dependent undergraduates were from families in poverty, a sharp rise from 1996 (12%). Since poverty in the wider 18- to 64-year-oldpopulation remained flat at about 12% during these same periods, it suggests that more poor students are participating in postsecondary education than 20 years earlier.
